(Rurouni Kenshin Collection)

I am close to done watching my favourite anime series - Samurai X.

The Olympics is coming to an end too after two weeks of non-stop broadcasting. :(

What would be next to keep me away from boredom? Wonders*

And so Merdeka Night came and went in Mt. Albert Memorial Hall. The theme was "Sireh Pulang ke Gagang" .. ridiculously we seem to have celebrated it 15 days before the real day. Have we lost our minds? But we would be having another countdown for it after UMSA Ball to make it up. On that very morning, all the performers were asked to head to Mt. Albert Memorial Hall around 11. We had to clean the whole place up and set the tables right, more like labours us performers are. Before long, our tummies were growling of hunger so we headed off to a snack shop close to the venue. The pricing was worth a look aka CHEAP! It was like how they mentioned "The further away you get from the city, the cheaper things are." Friends ordered .. You would be surprised I did not order a damn thing. I packed lunch.. I was tempted to though. Regret regret. I was ...drooling... when my friends munched down their fish fillets. So back to work thereafter. It did not take long for everything to look all grand with the help of everyone there. We did a few rehearsal rounds. Things were cool and that was not much to do other than to wait as time ticks down. Ohh there is something I have to mention .. ! Free KFC ! :p

Time generously flow through as we yelp away with friends playing cards, watching pre-recorded Olympics opening ceremony.. also memorizing lyrics for the closing song titled "Here In My Home" by various Malaysian artistes. For that I had to do a solo rap part which thankfully the mic was not working. If not, utter disaster. Before long, it was time. The stage was set. The hardwork of weeks and weeks of practicing and rehearsing was down to that very night, although it was not entirely perfect, it paid off. Other than the rapping part, I had some puny roles in the Sketch and Dikir Barat. To tell you I was all cool on stage is a lie. Performance anxiety really jitters me up.

Then, there was dinner. Nasi minyak served together with chicken curry and lamb rendang, to be flushed down with Rose syrup. Reasonably good tasting (I have tasted better Malaysian food here), satisfaction to my empty stomach, a 100 percent. Other than Dikir Barat and Sketch, there were also a display of Silat, Chinese, Indian and Malay dances, band performances and solo pianist and singers showing off their talents.

It was all good knowing that we did one hell of a great job when everything was over.

(Tech. handy while rehearsing)

(Sellout!)

(Cangguk - Malay Dance funny & nice!)

(Dresscode: Traditional or Semi-formal but.. )

(Closest I could get to being patriotic)

***********

Today was my first time experiencing a competitive netball match in the Social League. The League apparently is held every week but I am only included today as an extra player. It is a mix male-female game of course. The team comprises of Ivan, Sharvin, Shermayne, Ying Swan, Ilina, Audrey and Bronson. The latter two, being a funny couple which I met today, are real nice people (friendly) and according to Swan, Audrey's the UMSA netball coach (Never knew that until today). I was included in tonight's team thanks to Swan. Ran my heart out playing Center. The players were Whites mainly, big and lengthy but I was not intimidated by that fact. Scored only a point out of a 1/2 FG .. I would say its quite alright for a freshie. Got sweeped overall but it was a great experience. I will be back for more! :)

To whom it may concern, I kept my promise the night before. All good!

The games have officially begun. I only manage to catch a glimpse of the Opening Ceremony due to the Laser Strike event that was held at the same time. Oh well.. Thankfully, youtube!

(On board the SkySwing)

-Sho'08-

(Overview)

A bigger version of the Ship which takes a downwards parabolic path. Except for the fact that on the Ship, everything is computer controlled. This one, however, is all under your control. There is this trigger on our seats, when pulled, will release the swing to send us zooming down at a speed of 150km/hr. Its considerately fast aye? We made an agreement on who was going to pull it before we got on board. In the end, Vim who volunteered didn't even dared open his eyes.

Counting down ... So I did.

Updates on my blog.

I have added links to some of my besties blogs labelled .sugar and spice. at the left hand corner. That sounds abit off my usual but I'll have a look to that when I am free. They are highly recommended reading materials; they keep my boredom away on lonely nights to be honest. Do check them out. Good stuffs! .. Somehow it makes my blog seemed a little lengthy. Do give me a "Print" if I happen to left anyone who wants to be linked, out. Apologies.
